Wellness In Business, An Obligation For Both Employer And Staff

Filed under: Corporate Fitness — by corporatefitness @ 11:22 pm

As an employer, you sure wouldn’t want to hire an unhealthy person whom you know that sooner or later will be not in attendance. Healthy workers will always be key to the success of the company in whatever it is they are doing.

The workers who are holistically in good condition are the ones who fits any the job. Being fit and being healthy are two different things yet they go hand-in-hand with each other for both are vital in being able to perform well and efficiently. Take for example a workplace where people are very occupied doing paper works, and on haste of meeting their deadline and having a frenzied schedule, they can’t afford even though having the knowledge of how important it is to be in condition for work, some employees take their health for granted, reasoning out that they are too busy with their jobs that they cannot even go to gym or even a leisure center or for a 30 minute saunter at the nearby park or even do some stretching early in the morning. Isn’t it frightning to think that because of lack of exercise, someday you won’t be able to take the stairs when you’re running late and that your place of work is in the 15th floor of the building when the elevator is not available?

Some workers even blame the time of their work shift such as those who work at call centers and other sort of job that has a nighttime shift. They say that since the only open establishments during the graveyard shifts are their office, fast-food chains (where most of the menus are (oil-rich) fried food, and convenient store that sell instant foods (that usually contain preservatives and artificial flavors), it is quite difficult to refrain from eating.

We know that for so many instances that being healthy and fit could be very helpful yet quite hard to attain but being “in pink”, it is not only for you alone but also to the firm you’re into. It wouldn’t hurt to spend a little time for breathing the clean air outside your office or the place where your name is always on call. Waking up a little earlier than the usual time will not be too much if you can perform some stretching and a minute of preparing your own healthy pack of food won’t be a waste of time.

It concerns self-awareness; it’s about being a responsible employee which is parallel to being responsible to your health. Being at your top will mean doing you’re your best so if you have the dream of receiving that “Employee of the Year Award”, you should start living healthier now and be settle in being healthy. After all it is your future career that is at risk so you should not let anything get on your way to success not even your own self.

Exercise Is Still The Best Routine To Fight Against Obesity And Its Side Effects

Filed under: Corporate Fitness — by corporatefitness @ 9:18 pm

Corpulence is rapidly becoming the key cause of ailment. If a human is 20% bigger than that individual’s weight limit, he or she is now considered obese. Our diet bring about obesity such as ingesting too much fat, carbohydrates and sugar as an illustration. Too much ingesting of these chow groups give our self a difficult time breaking down or burning down these foods. Once these stuff are not broken down, it will be maintained in our body and will turn into fats. Once retained in our muscles, we tend to get heavier, our muscles will be having a tough time carrying our body and our skeleton as well will have a tough time. What we need to do is to modify the way we consume and get into fitness strength training, why so? We need fitness education so as to break down the fats collected in our body in our blood areteries.

Years ago I was once obese and had a hard time doing tough, I had swelling of the heart, diabetes, hypertension. These circumstances are life threatening so I had to have fitness education, I for the best corporate fitness that can offer me fitness strength training as per doctors advice. If I hadn’t began my fitness strength training, I wouldn’t feel better; at the commencement of the course they made me use a various kinds of weights to be raised, I was waiting to use dumb-bells but they had a special one called kettle bells, these kettle bells are much more enjoyable to work with and painless. Ever since I launched my fitness strength training, I almost lost 100 lbs, I used to weigh 350 lbs. . With the fitness education I have now, a big thing has transformed, rather, it has transformed my life dramatically. I used to hold my breath merely bending over or just running to answer a phonecall.

People are now obsessed into a lifestyle of ingesting too much because fast food is ubiquitous, what we don’t know is that these cuisine are fried in lards which contains a lot of fat. humans should begin realizing that trying a healthy lifestyle is better than chowing into these foods often, I know it tastes great but we will soon understand once you start having indicators that I had; back pains, frequent urination due to diabetes, heart burn; you’ll meditate about it. Life is short; overweight or should I say everybody should have fitness education and if they have adequate money, employ a professional for your fitness strength training. If we can only see what’s inside our veins, all the built up fat that had been glued in there, gosh. The genuine regimen is not those fat burning medication or not consuming food at all; it is thru exercise, breaking down the calories that we take into our body. We can consume food all we fancy as long as we metabolize them thru proper workout.

Kettle Bells Are Wonderful For Strength Work-outs

Filed under: Corporate Fitness — by corporatefitness @ 4:34 pm

For more information about Corporate Fitness and Fitness Strength Training, please visit Lavanda Elite’s website.

As I grew up, I got exposed to a variety of exercise and fitness methodologies, from Karate, to Training, to Aerobics, and many others. All of these fitness methods have experts endorsing them, describing in detail how they contribute positively to your fitness and physical condition. While browsing the net, I was introduced to some unusual exercise products. I say this because I am used to the traditional Barbell, Dumbbell, bench press, stationary bike, jumping rope, Lat Machine, etc. An example of such exercise equipment are Kettle Bells.

Here’s what Matt Wilson has to say regarding Kettle Bells: “Kettle Bells are the greatest training asset we possess, a blurb from 1917. But why? Kettle Bells are probably where the idea for high power stretch shortening cycle/ply-metrics originated. The sudden violent stretch followed by amortization to shortening. The Kettle Bell snatch is an upper body depth jump… The other calculation in Kettle Bell exercises would be Olympic weight lifting. Olympic lifting is rarely done for a high number of reps, whereas the Kettle Bells are. The range of movement in the Kettle Bell snatch travels more distance than in Olympic weight lifting due to the stretch between the legs breaking momentum in the amortization phase with Kettle Bells, in Olympic weight lifting the ground is the break.. This gives the kettle bell an advantage in range, duration (amortization breaking means there is no cessation of movement and that rest is only possible at the top of the movement when load is on the muscle). This is why the Kettle Bell is effective as a training tool.”

Looking at athletes who train with Kettle Bells, I have to say that it is required to have some sort of weight training experience before you should even try them or you’ll expose yourself to harm. The abrupt arm movements, seems to me, can extend and tear muscles excessively to the point of serious injury. I that they can even fracture your bones. As I’ve read in a few articles, you need an expert trainer to achieve the utmost effectiveness and safety when working out with Kettle Bells.

Nevertheless, if you’re a resolute athlete who requires both flexibility and power, these Kettle Bells can really give amazing results. I’m sure you’ll experience a lot of soreness after your workout, but as they say, “No pain, no gain.” I’ve watched from a website a certain routine in a video and it appears to me like it’s enjoyable to a certain extent. Unlike other strength building exercises, Kettle Bells allow you to move around.

I suppose that Kettle Bells would be terrific for weight lifters, wrestlers, boxers, gymnasts and swimmers. I’m sure there are a lot more sporting events where Kettle Bells would be a fantastic addition to training routines.

Girevoy

Filed under: Corporate Fitness — by corporatefitness @ 12:38 am

Girevoy Sport is the art of high repetition kettlebell lifting. It combines elements of Olympic weightlifting with power endurance sports such as rowing. The training is tremendously enriching as the methods satisfy requirements for an holistic fitness modality. The emphasis is on perfecting performance of a few key lifts – the Snatch, Jerk, and Long Cycle. Improvements require attention to correction of postural and other muscular imbalances common to our largely sedentary and/or inappropriately exercised population. Fortunately, the sport lifts themselves are inherently curative!

The lifts appear relatively easy but demand excellent flexibility, attention to efficient breathing patterns and mastery of tension and relaxation. With an emphasis on improving work capacity with safe, low impact training, the effects on the cardiovascular and respiratory systems are profound. Spinal health (symmetry, strength and endurance) is strongly emphasized. Appropriately trained gireviks possess great core strength and as the lifts are inherently prehabilitative , are rarely troubled by back, neck , shoulder or other joint pain.
To maximise results, the athlete must pay attention to compound strength movements such as the squat and press in their various guises, all the while emphasizing form over absolute number of repetitions. The sport requires development of special endurance i.e. the ability to recover between repetitions over a 10 minute period.

The methodology employs periodisation and building volume whilst waving the intensity level. Emphasis is placed on successful training sessions without training to the point of failure or exhaustion – something that invites injury. GS is remarkably injury free when performed under the prescribed principles.
No-one can fault the posture, general health , strength and stamina levels of the committed GS athlete. It is a rare sport where athletes are able to continue performing at an elite level into the 5th and 6th decades. This strongly suggests the methodology is soundly based, robustly proven, and extremely beneficial for long term health.

The sport lifts are inherently athletic, requiring mastery of compound movements and precise application of power. The combination of powerful, efficient and graceful plyometric and ballistic motions are instantly transfer to the majority of sports – and the improvements in cardiac output and breathing patterns are inestimable. And for those who are no longer to perform their chosen sport because of chronic injury, many will find girevoy sport methods deliver a novel, challenging but ultimately safe and highly effective means of maintaining whole body health.

Muscle Elasticity

Filed under: Corporate Fitness — by corporatefitness @ 12:01 pm

What is muscle elasticity? Well, if you were to cut out a muscle, put it on the table and stretch it, you would see it shrink back a bit. In plain physics, it’s a natural ability of some things to recover the original form upon the removal of the force initially applied. However, a human and his body is not all physics, it’s physics, chemistry, biology, psychology and all that good stuff, and last time you checked you probably noticed that your muscles are under your skin. Which should… Read more at http://lavandaelite.com/

Stress – Friend or Foe?

Filed under: Corporate Fitness — by corporatefitness @ 2:33 pm

Stress is not the enemy in our lives. Paradoxically, it is the key to growth.

In order to build strength in a muscle we must systematically stress it, expanding energy beyond normal levels. By doing so causes microscopic tears in the muscle fibers.

At the end of a training session, functional capacity is diminished. However give the muscle twenty four to forty eight hours to recover and it grows stronger and better able to handle the next stimulus. Read more at http://lavandaelite.com/health-and-wellbeing/stress-friend-or-foe/

Training and Rest

Filed under: Corporate Fitness — by corporatefitness @ 9:17 pm

It is a well-known fact that most people need about 7-9 hours of sleep every night to recuperate from stress of daily activities. And it is a similar situation in sports – people participating must always remember to get adequate amount of rest between training sessions.

There are those of us that couldn’t handle more than a couple of days of exercising or running a week. Then there are those few that have the innate need to be active and train 5-7 days a week. The overwhelming majority of people falls into the middle category that requires an equal amount of exercising and resting, i.e. 3-4 days to train and 3 or 4 days to rest. Let’s say, for example, you train Monday, Wednesday and Friday which would leave you with Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday to rest. Comes next Monday, it is a guarantee you’ll feel fresh as a cucumber. Read more at http://lavandaelite.com/exercise-fitness/training-and-rest/

Kettle Bells, Terrific For Strength And Flexibility Training

As I was growing up, I experienced doing a lot of exercise and fitness disciplines, from Martial Arts, to Weights, to Aerobics, and many others. All of these fitness methods have experts endorsing them, explaining in detail how they contribute positively to your fitness and physical condition. Lately, I was introduced to some weird exercise products. I say this because I am accustomed to the traditional Barbell, Dumbbell, bench press, stationary bike, jumping rope, Lat Machine, etc. One such equipment are Kettle Bells.

This is what Matt Wilson has to say regarding Kettle Bells: “Kettle Bells are the greatest training asset we possess, a blurb from 1917.

Watching athletes who use Kettle Bells, I have to say that it is required to have some sort of weight training background before you should try Kettle Bells or you’ll expose yourself to harm. The sudden arm movements, seems to me, can stretch and tear muscles excessively to the point of severe injury. I believe that they can even break your bones. As I’ve read in a few articles, you’ll need an expert coach to gain the maximum effectiveness and safety when training with Kettle Bells.

Nonetheless, if you’re a resolute athlete who requires both flexibility and power, these Kettle Bells can really give wonderful results. I’m sure you’ll go through a lot of pain after your sessions, but as they say, “No pain, no gain.” I’ve seen from a website a certain exercise routine in a video and it appears to me like it’s pleasurable to a certain degree. Unlike other power building routines, Kettle Bells allow you to walk around.

I’m thinking that Kettle Bells are excellent for weight lifters, wrestlers, boxers, gymnasts and swimmers. I’m sure that there are a lot more sporting events where Kettle Bells would be a fantastic addition to training routines. For more Fitness Education, please visit the Lavanda Elite website. 10 Reasons Why We Should Do Weight Training

1. REDUCE BODY FAT: Adults who replace muscle tissue through weight training use more calories all day long therefore reducing the likelihood of fat accumulation.
2. SPEED UP DIGESTION TIME: Weight training can decrease digestion time. Delayed digestion has been related to an increased risk of colon cancer
3. PREVENT MUSCLE LOSS: As we age we can lose approx .25 kg of muscle tissue each year. Weight training will counter that loss.
4. AVOID METABOLIC RATE REDUCTION: Because muscle is a very active tissue, muscle loss is accompanied by a reduction in overall resting metabolism. This reduction in our resting metabolism contributes to the phenomenon of middle aged spread and fat gain as we age
5. REDUCE ARTHRITIC PAIN: Weight training develops stronger muscles bones and connective tissue and therefore eases the pain and chance of getting osteoarthritis.
6. REDUCE LOWER BACK PAIN: 80 % of adults suffer from lower back pain. By strengthening surrounding stabilising and surrounding major muscle groups it is possible to reduce the chances of getting lower back pain.
7. INCREASE BONE STRENGTH: Weight training significantly improves bone mineral density therefore reducing osteoporosis in later life.
8. IMPROVE CHOLESTEROL LEVELS: A combination of both cardio and weight training will improve cholesterol levels. Cholesterol is a primary risk factor in Coronary Heart Disease. Therefore weight training is an important benefit.
9. MAINTAIN BLOOD SUGAR BALANCE: Poor glucose metabolism is linked with adult onset diabetes. Improved glucose metabolism is an important benefit of regular weight training.
10. REDUCE RESTING BLOOD PRESSURE: Combining a weight and cardio training program is the most effective way to reduce blood pressure without medical intervention.
Generally speaking:
• Any equipment that makes an exercise easier to do will be of less benefit to you.
• Exercises that utilise your body weight and natural movement patterns are best for you.
• A bit like vegetables and stretches those exercises that we like to do are probably not going to be as much benefit to us as those exercises we don’t like to do.
• Always do a general and specific warm up including a stretch before resistance training.
• Always warm down and stretch after your work out.
• Make sure you have been cleared to exercise before starting. In the ideal world this would include a range of motion test.
• To get significant changes in your muscle they need to be trained 2-3 times every seven days, dependant on recovery. Recovery can be aided by good nutrition and proper recovery.
• Just because you lift weights it does not mean that you will get big muscles this is especially so for woman.
• The longer the rest period between sets the greater amount of weight you will be able to lift. The more weight you can lift the stronger you will get. As your strength increases so to will your muscle mass.
• Abdominal training should be completed at the end of the workout.

Among numerous health myths, one particularly skewed belief is that eggs are bad for your heart; however, eating eggs on a daily basis may prove to hold numerous health benefits, especially a decreased risk of heart disease. Research showed that, in healthy adults, eating eggs every day did not produce: – A negative effect on endothelial function, an aggregate measure of cardiac risk or – An increase in cholesterol levels. Are all Kettle Bells the Same?

Kettle Bells are the greatest training asset we possess, a blurb from 1917. But why? Kettle Bells are probably where the idea for high power stretch shortening cycle/ply-metrics originated. The sudden violent stretch followed by amortization to shortening. The Kettle Bell snatch is an upper body depth jump…
The other calculation in Kettle Bell exercises would be Olympic weight lifting. This is why the Kettle Bell is effective as a training tool.
This has lead to a lot of sites, shops and individuals selling Kettle Bells resulting in a variation in designs and style. Here is an overview:
The first pair I purchased was covered in a textured paint with a V handle. Having a varied training background led me to purchase 2 x 32kg Bells. On the first snatch attempt a large callous was torn off my hand stopping my training for 7 days, not happy. Therefore textured paint is a good idea on a handle designed to slide over the hand. If you have already purchased some Kettle Bells of this design there is hope. Sand off the textured paint leaving the bare steel to slide readily over the hand.
A swing being necessary to get the Kettle Bell into position, full speed swing is one when the desired finishing position requires absolute commitment. The Snatch is one of those exercises. The Snatch requires the Kettle Bell to be moved with sufficient power so the Bell ends in the correct position. The hand in beginners is one of the weakest links in most Kettle Bell exercise; the hands are required to stop the weight flying during the swings. If the hand is stressed to the point of failure the exercise must cease therefore handle design is important.
Handles, there are a lot of different handles ranging from the big two handed jobs to the Pro Kettle Bells used in the sport of Girevoy. The double handed are good for a double handed swing, but is a double handed swing a good exercise for this unusual piece of equipment? I personally believe that the double handed swing is only good for a warm up and conditioning of the timing required for the bigger exercises. The reason for my belief is experience based, the swing is a very slow, non-complex movement for the body to have adaptation forced upon it. The single hand swing is a preferable exercise even for beginners as this forces the body to statically contract to avoid rotation of the torso therefore increasing abdominal load as these muscle respond best to resistance of a given load.
If we look at the three big exercise of Girevoy, being: Snatch, Jerk and Long Cycle. All of these moves can be performed with single or double Kettle Bells, the problem of the handles lies when we use two Kettle Bells for these power moves as the hand moves around the Kettle Bell it should be smooth and effortless therefore the Pro Kettle Bells suit the double handed exercise whereas the larger handle will cause loss of motion and even jarring onto the wrist or upper arm.
I do own a very heavy double handed Kettle Bells, with names such as: The Beast, Bulldog and Behemoth. These are usually used single handed though and at a relatively slow speed. The kettle Bell is best used at speed making the small handle preferable, as this requires less effort. The debate on thick or thin handles only comes into play if one wishes to increase grip strength for any given reason, sport or occupation therefore a thicker handle is ideal.
In short I believe the Pro Kettle Bells sold are the best for all round usage, if you wish to go very heavy double handed then use two together. If you want to still experience a greater contraction of the torso by means of resisting rotation then use two kettle Bells of different weight i.e. 12kg and 16kg. Be sure to switch them around during sets.
Putting yourself on a course will only improve your technique therefore gaining better results; also cutting back of calluses will further reduce injury and time lost in training.
